I recently got back from the hometown of one of music’s next big superstars. Tabius Tate and I went down to Montgomery, Alabama to shoot part of the video for Toot It Up feat. the lovely Ms. Shyne. It was an ‘in-and-out’ situation as we have more scenes we’re shooting in the ‘A’, but it was great to see Shyne (more on her soon) again and meet some very instrumental people in Tabius’ life and career. We’re also filming a documentary to coincide with the release of Tabius’ next project, The Tabius Tate Story, so we got some great material for that as well.
Any way, the music video shoot went amazing. We shot at IKONZ Bar & Grill and everyone had a blast. Here’s a few photos from our shoot. Enjoy.

I also got a chance to talk to Tabius Tate’s mother and she talked about how proud she is of the man her son is today. Very sweet lady.

I take great pride in this video. I’ve known mikeflo for over a decade and a half and I’ve always respected what he stood for as a man and as an artist so it was a pleasure to finally link up in the artistic realm and set thangs on fire (literally). When he reached out and told me it was time to do something, he sent me a number of tracks and told me to just pick one. This one in particular resonated and stood out because of the poignant delivery, subject matter, and because after I stopped listening to it, it was still stuck in my head. When I shot ‘flo the synopsis, I was beyond happy and eager that he was completely open to everything I wanted to do even if it meant being somewhat controversial. Totally appreciate him for understanding my vision of this song and going with it.
